Description :
 It's rare to find a bar or restaurant where tourists and locals socialise together. The Border bar is a place very different from the norm. Set up by an English and Thai husband and wife the border bar is an old teak house refurbished into the style of a British bar however, 90% of all the customers are local people of Pangmapha including Lahu and Lisu Hill tribe. Serving traditional Thai food and a wide range of drinks all at local prices. Tip: If you want to get to know and socialise with the local people try to be there around 9pm.

We visited The Border on 27th may 2009 and had a few drinks with the Local police who are regulars at The Border. Andy and Boo took great care of us and offered us a wealth of information and even stayed open much later than normal so we could watch our beloved man Utd play the Champions League final.
Great food excellent company and the beer was so much cheaper than what we were paying in Pai. Sadly Barcelona beat man Utd which was the only let down of the night!
