Wisut Buachum, director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) office in Mae Hong Son said this week that Tourism for Pai district  generated B1 billion for the local economy this year alone.

You would have expected more on this wouldn't you?  This was taken from the Nation and the only thing add to this story were these cutting edge words... "Meanwhile Pai district chief Niwet Pulsawat added that Pai was one of the most favourite tourist places."

Most favourite places for who? Western tourists? The Thai Tourists? or the people that Banked the one billion Baht?

We were in Pai recently speaking with local business owners and the general concession was that although more people are vsiting Pai the boost to toruism in Pai has only trickled into the pockets of only a few of the business owners.  Are you a business owner in Pai? Since the boom in Pai's tourism how has your business profits improved?  It would be nice to hear from business owners.  Add your say below.
